The Free AI Baseball Swing Analyzer Apps, Compared

Short answer: eight of these thirteen apps will grade a swing for free with no credit card: HittingCoachAI, BatIQ, SwingDino, SwingVantage, Player 1, HitProAI, Baseball AI and Angular Baseball (ours). Most of them just say "free" and leave it there. Only HitProAI (5 swings, no signup), Baseball AI (60 seconds of video, unlimited swings, then $9.99/mo) and Angular Baseball (2 analyses a day, 5 a week, no card, no expiry, then $9.99/mo or $49.99/yr) tell you the actual number before you start. Mind & Muscle, OnForm and WIN Reality's SwingAI all charge you to actually grade a swing. Search "free baseball swing analyzer" and almost every result says "free" somewhere on the page. What it means changes app to app: free until you own a $149.95 sensor, free for five swings with no account, free with no published price at all, free for a two-week trial that turns into a subscription. We went through all thirteen apps in our full comparison of swing analysis apps and pulled out exactly what "free" gets you in each one. Disclosure: we make Angular Baseball, one of the apps below.

Four different things "free" means here

Sort the field by what actually costs nothing today, and it splits into four groups.

Free, and the company states a number. HitProAI, Baseball AI and Angular Baseball each publish an allowance or a limit before you sign up, so you know what you're getting.
Free, no card, no stated number. HittingCoachAI, BatIQ, SwingDino, SwingVantage and Player 1 all say "free" and ask for no card, but none of their sites publishes how much you get or what a paid plan costs.
Free to open, paid to actually use. Mind & Muscle's app is free to download, but grading a swing costs credits ($2.99 for 10) or a $9.99 premium subscription; OnForm gives a 14-day trial of its coach-review tools and then a subscription; WIN Reality's SwingAI lists paid plans only, with nothing free to try.
Free once you've already paid for hardware. Blast Motion and Diamond Kinetics both have a free app tier, but you reach it by buying a $149.95 or $50 bat sensor first.

Which free tier fits which hitter

The three that tell you the number: HitProAI, Baseball AI, Angular Baseball

HitProAI gives you 5 free swings in a browser with no signup at all — the lowest-friction free tier here, though it's a one-time allowance, not a recurring one. Baseball AI's free tier is 60 seconds of video with unlimited swings and no card, then $9.99 a month once you want more. Angular Baseball, ours, gives 2 analyses a day and 5 a week with no card and no expiry, then $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year. If you want to know exactly what you're getting before you hand over an email address, these three are the honest options.

Free with no stated limit: HittingCoachAI, BatIQ, SwingDino, SwingVantage, Player 1

HittingCoachAI and BatIQ AI both grade an uploaded swing in a browser and don't publish a paid plan at all. SwingDino is in beta, grading head, posture, balance and contact with one drill. SwingVantage is golf-first across seven sports and calls its core loop permanently free, with paid tiers adding depth at a price it doesn't list. Player 1 is an iPhone app covering hitting, pitching and throwing, free to try with no card, also with no published price. None of the five says what happens if you outgrow the free version, because none of them says what the free version's limit is.

Free to open, not free to use: Mind & Muscle, OnForm, WIN Reality SwingAI

Mind & Muscle's Swing Lab needs credits ($2.99 for 10) or its $9.99 premium subscription to actually analyze a swing. OnForm gives a 14-day trial of its coach-review tools, then $9.99 to $14.99 a month — and it doesn't grade a swing automatically at all; a person has to watch the video. WIN Reality's SwingAI lists paid plans only, $14.99 a month or $119.88 a year, with nothing free to try before you buy.

Free after the hardware: Blast Motion, Diamond Kinetics

Both sensor makers have a free tier in their app, but you reach it by buying the sensor first: $149.95 for Blast, $50 for Diamond Kinetics. If bat speed is what you're after, that upfront cost buys a real measurement no camera can give you.

Where Angular Baseball loses

iPhone only. HittingCoachAI, BatIQ and SwingDino run in any browser — Android, Chromebook, laptop, anything. Baseball AI also runs on Android.

How to try any of these without spending anything

Check what "free" actually includes before you film anything. This page is a starting point — re-check the app's own site, since prices and limits change.
Film side-on, at hip height, in the same spot every time. Every one of these apps reads a side-on clip best.
Use the free tier before you compare tools. None of the eight free-to-try apps here need a purchase to find out if you like how they grade a swing.
Watch what happens when you hit the limit. A hard stop after five swings is a different experience than a weekly reset — try to reach the ceiling once before deciding.

Is there a truly free AI baseball swing analyzer app?

Yes. Can a free app measure bat speed?

No. None of the free video apps in this comparison measures bat speed — that needs a sensor on the bat, such as Blast Motion ($149.95) or Diamond Kinetics ($50), both of which also have a free app tier once you own the sensor. The free video apps, Angular Baseball included, grade body mechanics instead.
