What is Angular Baseball?
Angular Baseball is an iPhone app that turns one short phone video of a baseball or softball swing into a coaching report: a score out of 100 from 13 checks, plain-English fixes ranked by how much they matter, and a drill for each. It is free to start, and Pro is $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year.
How long does an analysis take?
Usually about 30 seconds once the upload finishes. Film a clip of up to 20 seconds and the app finds the swing in it for you.
What do I need?
An iPhone on iOS 17 or later. Film from the side with the phone held upright (portrait), 10 to 15 feet away, with the whole body in frame.
Is it free?
Yes, to start. Every free account gets 2 swing analyses a day and 5 a week, with no expiry and no card required. Pro ($9.99 a month or $49.99 a year) is unlimited and adds the coach's report from a baseline and the 3-week program. Free coach accounts get one analysis per player per day, up to 20 a week.
What does the score measure?
13 checks across setup, load, stride, contact and follow-through, like back elbow angle, trunk lean and front-leg brace. Each issue is ranked high, medium or low, so you know what to fix first, and each comes with a drill matched to what your swing showed.
Can I share my swing?
Yes. Post it as an Instagram Reel or Story, send it to TikTok, Snapchat or Messages, or share a private link your coach or family can open without the app. One switch hides your score if you'd rather not show it.
Does it replace a hitting coach?
No, and it isn't trying to. Private hitting lessons run about $120 an hour; Angular is for the swings in between. Film one at practice, see what to work on, and take that to your coach. Coaches can add their own notes on top of the score — here's how it works with a roster.
Does it work for softball and left-handed hitters?
Yes. Softball swings are supported, and right- and left-handed swings are each scored on their own terms.
